Problem Context
RJM’s previous website was outdated and lacked the flexibility to support his growing ministry verticals, including digital media, speaking engagements, and online education.
This limited his ability to reach a wider audience, monetize new offerings, and provide a cohesive experience for his followers.
Core Challenge
How might we create a unified digital platform that reflects RJM’s brand while enabling him to scale his content, connect with users, and grow his ministry online?
Research
Key discussions with stakeholders provided valuable insights into expectations and allowed for brainstorming on functionality, while also uncovering technical capabilities and limitations. This ensured that design and content efforts aligned with the ministry's vision.
Additionally, audience research, including website analytics and mailing list demographics, helped identify key user groups and their needs. This data informed the design process, enabling us to create an experience tailored to better appeal to Rob's audience. Using AI tools to support synthesis, I organized key themes and insights, which helped prioritize focus areas for the redesign, ultimately laying a clear foundation for a more intuitive user experience.
Wireframing
I worked on optimizing the layout to ensure key areas of the site were easily accessible, whether through intuitive navigation or well-defined sections.
We focused on streamlining access to important elements like the homepage, book purchase buttons, and the checkout flow. This approach led to a more user-friendly layout, making the site’s most critical functions easier to navigate and use.
Visual Mockups
I developed detailed mockups to showcase the website's design for both mobile and desktop views.
We focused on ensuring a seamless, responsive experience across devices, while aligning the design with stakeholder expectations. These mockups helped solidify the design direction and provided a clear visual reference for the next steps.
E-Commerce Integration
Designed and developed a responsive site for selling books, courses, and event tickets.
Content Publishing
Enabled weekly podcast and article updates to keep users engaged.
Responsive Design
Ensured a seamless experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Brand Alignment
Matched the new site design to RJM’s refreshed visual identity.
Key Success & Outcome
As the front-end developer, I coded functional HTML, CSS, and JS for all areas of the website, ensuring a responsive framework that worked seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
The website integrated smoothly with third-party features like payment gateways and email collection, while thorough testing ensured all elements functioned as expected. This process laid the foundation for a reliable, cross-platform website that met both technical and user needs.
