Teachers struggled with a complex platform that made it hard to manage classrooms and content.
Operators lacked clear reporting tools, and fragmented communication features limited engagement between educators, students, and restaurant leaders.

To understand real user needs, I conducted in-depth interviews with teachers and restaurant leaders about their workflows, challenges, and goals.
Their insights shaped key platform features and ensured the experience aligned with how they teach, lead, and measure success.

Research Synthesis
I analyzed interview findings to identify major pain points, missed feature opportunities, and areas of unnecessary complexity in the existing platform.
Using AI tools to support synthesis, I organized key themes and insights that informed focus areas for the redesign—laying a clear foundation for improving the experience for both teachers and operators.

From the interview data, five key areas were identified contributing to the challenges faced by teachers and restaurant operators.
No Onboarding
Users were given little to no guidance on how to get started or navigate the platform.
Lack of Reporting
No tools existed to track student progress or measure program success, leaving operators without critical insights.
Fragmented Communication
Communication tools were disjointed, making it difficult to coordinate between teachers, students, and restaurant leaders.
No Contextualized Dashboard
Users lacked a personalized view tailored to their role, making it harder to find relevant information quickly.

Lessons lacked a clear structure, making it hard for teachers to deliver content in a cohesive, engaging way.

I collaborated with stakeholders to explore new design directions that simplified teacher workflows and delivered clearer insights for operators.
We focused on improving access to training materials, streamlining communication tools, and introducing more intuitive reporting features. These mockups laid the groundwork for a cleaner, role-specific experience that supported both daily tasks and program oversight.
